Background
Total Access Emailer supports SMTP standards to send its emails. This works with providers like Gmail, Yahoo, and until recently Office 365's server at smtp.office365.com.
Problem
In early December 2022, Microsoft Office 365 started to roll out changes to some of their Office 365 accounts that caused SMTP to fail in Total Access Emailer with an error like this:
Our development team is aware of this problem and working with the Microsoft team to address this. Alternatives like using an App Password are also not working.
IP Address Authentication Works
We have confirmed that IP Authenticated SMTP servers are working. Details on how that works and how to configure it can be found on our main Office 365 page: https://fmsinc.com/MicrosoftAccess/email/smtp/index.htm
Next Steps
We are sorry for this disruption using Total Access Emailer with Office 365. We are currently not sure if a change is necessary in Total Access Emailer or if Office 365 will make a change to address this.
We will update this page as we learn more. If we need to create an update of our program, we will do so.
