Question
Is there a way to customize the rate at which Total Access Emailer sends the email messages?
Answer
Total Access Emailer for Microsoft Access includes several options to enable the user to customize the rate at which emails are sent out (also referred to as the Email Pulse Options). These features were included to address the concern of potential overloading of your SMTP server with your email blasts. These options can be located on the "Send Options Tab" of the Total Access Emailer Options form:
Pausing Between Messages
Total Access Emailer does not limit the number of email messages that are sent, however sending a large number of email messages in a short period of time may overload your mail server or affect network performance. To prevent overloading your mail server or network traffic, Total Access Emailer includes options to pause after messages are sent. This may be important if you are sending a lot of emails, or large HTML messages and attachments.
Seconds to Wait After Message is Sent
The number of seconds to pause after each message is sent.
Pause after This Many Messages are Sent
In addition to the pause after each email, you may add a longer pause after a specified number of email messages are sent.
Pause for This Many Seconds
The number of seconds Total Access Emailer should pause after the specified number of messages are sent.
Beep After Message Sent
Select this option to beep after each message is sent. This is helpful if you want a continuous reminder that messages are being sent, or a way to tell if the email blast slows or stops.
